Chinese superstar Jacky Cheung wrapped up his A Classic Tour concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum on Tuesday (Jan. 29).
The 57-year-old singer-songwriter began his themed series in October 2016 in Beijing, and has since visited 97 locations, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, the U.S., the U.K., France, Australia, Taiwan and his hometown of Hong Kong, with 233 shows in total.
The singer combined his amazing vocals with a live 31-piece orchestra, plus 30 dancers and acrobats, an innovative 360-degree viewable stage, and world-class production.
After the final show, Cheung shared his feelings with Billboard Radio China backstage. “According to online information, I’ve already had more than 800 live concerts in my entire life. I am so happy to see my fans here to witness my 35 years music journey,” he shared. “I don’t want to stop. I want to keep learning, and I hope people can continually support me in the future.”
Jacky Cheung’s music career started in 1984. He is regarded by the Chinese as one of the Cantopop Four Heavenly Kings along with Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau and Leon Lai.
At the 1994 U.S. Billboard Music Awards, Jacky Cheung was named the most popular singer in Asia. With more than 25 million records sold as of 2003, he is regarded as the “God of Songs” in Hong Kong.
