I purchased this bow for $119.00, as it was on clearance. This isn't my first recurve but it is my first one piece recurve. It's pretty much a samick sage one piece clone with different wood composition(wood laminations). As far as amazon and shipping went, I recieved the bow on time and the bow was in good condition with no twists in the limbs. As far as the accessories, at this price point or even the non marked down price of $159.00, they are pretty much junk. The string is b55 dacron which would get you by, the stringer is poorly made, but would get you by, and the arm guard is pretty much the same, the arrow shelf material and strike plate is fine. I Would really liked to have seen a quality stringer, beaver ball silencers, limb silencing material, and a fast flight string of some kind. I could have done without a tab/glove from the manufacturer or an arm guard in lieu of better accessories. I expected most of that, while ordering the bow, I went ahead and purchased a quality tab, hip quiver, limb silencing material, beaver ball silencers, and a hoyt satori 60" AMO fast flight string, and a stringer. The string, stringer, and beaver ball silencers i got from my local shop. It was well worth it. Back to the bow itself, it did have a few quality control blemish type issues on the riser, grip, and the top limb (back) nothing major mainly just wood finish. I touched all that up with some 0000 steel wool, except for the limb cause I didn't want to scuff the limbs. The reality is If you want a decent budget bow to get started shooting, this bow will do that and then some, even bare bones. You're getting what you pay for and then some. At the end of the day, the best thing to do is trash all the accessories and go get quality accessories at your local shop or your online vendor of choice.

I got the 40# Mid-weight as a nice in-between from my other bows. The wood is just beautiful. I find the bow amazingly fun to shoot and a nice break from the higher weight I usually shoot at, my wife can also shoot this bow comfortably and enjoys it.

My interest in this bow is for a cheap light weight basement plinker. Not expecting much, mostly satisfied for my intended purpose, except draw weight measures 5 pounds less than advertised, using calibrated aircraft cable pull gauge. This may not be a deal breaker or very noticeable for someone just learning correct form and technique, but 5 pounds was enough to drop my tune to a whole arrow spine weaker than typical, even after maxing out brace height and before slowing string down with silencers.

I have over 40 years of experience. 1st let me say that this is not a $500 bow. So you lease keep that in mind. Now that the ugly is out of the way. It has a smooth draw. Also I would not consider this a long bow. It is a recurve. It is loud out of the bow. I put some puff silencers in it a 1000% improvement. Nice a quite. I’m shooting about a 530 grain arrow 4” in turkey feathers. They fly well and have good impact. I don’t think that it’s as fast as my horse bows at the same weight 40#, but 20yrd deer would be no problem. Over all great bow for the money. You would have trouble beating the price.

Worth the money. Shoots well.
