Dasychira manto, the Manto tussock moth;
Volusia county, Florida (11 May 2014).
Ranging sporadically throughout the southeastern portion of the United States, the Manto tussock moth is a fairly furry and ornate species of Family Erebidae. Though this picture isn’t necessarily useful for identification, I rather like this lateral view of the moth hugging the glass. I dig this vantage from a moth — from the side.
