What’s New For 2024
The X5 received a complete redesign for 2024, and the PHEV sees the biggest changes of any configuration. The new bodywork is the same as the redesigned gasoline-only powered X5, an updated look that’s modern and sophisticated, including bigger standard wheels and an available illuminated grille. But the big changes to the PHEV are in the drivetrain, which gets a bigger battery and more all-electric range, now up to an estimated 39 miles. It also gets more power, a lot more, and the output of 483 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque puts it closer to the performance-oriented M60i than the base X5, which is already pretty potent. Inside, you’ll find a redesigned but familiarly comfortable interior, which now features the BMW Curved Display. This display combines a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, joined together into one curved unit. Even the instrument gauge cluster is a touchscreen, making it easier to customize this display than it is in most other vehicles.

Three customizable drive modes give you the flexibility to prioritize power or efficiency with the touch of a button. In Electric mode, you’ll have the ability to travel at speeds up to 84 MPH using solely electric power. Charging is both quick and convenient thanks to a standard Flexible Fast Charger cable that connects to any charging station, an available BMW i Wallbox which allows fast-charging at your home, and a comprehensive network of public charging stations.
