During the Super Bowl, San Diego-based Jack in the Box said it would giveaway 1 million burgers as part of a campaign to showcase major changes to its menu.
The chain has overhauled its menu to include higher quality ingredients as it tries to stay relevant in an industry where consumer preferences have changed. The chain has scrapped its sesame seed bun for a toasted buttery bun and replaced an onion-mayo spread with real mayonnaise. The makeover impacts 29 burgers, sandwiches and breakfast foods. It’s the first big overhaul to the menu in 15 years, company officials said.
In a Super Bowl ad titled “Crossing the Delaware,” Jack in the Box said the company will give away one million burgers to customers.
“The goal is for existing consumers to visit us more frequently because they love our burgers and chicken sandwiches,” said Keith Guilbault, Chief Marketing Officer.
