KALAMAZOO, MI -- Jack in the Box is bringing five restaurants to West Michigan in the next five years.
The fast-food chain will open its first Michigan location in Battle Creek, new Jack in the Box franchisee Niraj Patel said in a news release. Locations in Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Kent counties will follow, according to a press release. Opening dates are not yet known.
Jack in the Box is known for its signature Sourdough Jack Sandwich, consisting of a beef patty topped with bacon, tomato, Swiss-style cheese, mayonnaise, and ketchup on toasted sourdough bread.
It is also known for its tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast and late-night snacking options. The new locations will offer dine-in, drive-thru and mobile ordering options and will be open 24 hours a day.
Jack in the Box used to have locations in Michigan, but they’ve been gone for years.
“This is very exciting because we can give our community more food options and help provide 40 to 50 new jobs per location,” Patel said. “We have been in our West Michigan community for decades, and we love to see the growth in our community.”
Patel owns and operates a dozen hotels in West Michigan, per the release.
The new restaurants will feature “modern aesthetics and vibrant signage,” per the news release, to provide a contemporary dining experience.
The San Diego-based chain owns and operates more than 2,000 restaurants across 22 U.S. states. The brand is coming to Michigan after its successful expansion in Utah, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Montana and Wyoming, the release said.
