Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection is a theatrical film released in Japan in 2019. It is a sequel to the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion compilation movies rather than the TV series. Original TV director Goro Taniguchi and writer Ichiro Okouchi return for the film, which also features mechanical designs by Eiji Nakada and Kenji Teraoka, character designs by CLAMP and Takahiro Kimura and a score by Kotaro Nakagawa. Set one year after the compilation movies, the story focuses on a resurrected Lelouch Lamperouge, who has to reassemble his former allies to face a new threat from the powerful Kingdom of Zilkhistan. The film was accompanied by an epilogue picture drama. A sequel anime project, Code Geass: Z of the Recapture, is currently in production. The movie was released on home video in North America by Crunchyroll, but is now seemingly out of print.
