How to Get Through the Pillars of Creation
The Pillars of Creation is a key area that you'll have to visit as part of the main story missions in Enshrouded. As the Carpenter sends you off to find masonry tools, you'll be faced with finding a way to get through the Deadly Shroud that blocks the entrance. In this section of our Enshrouded guide, we'll cover all the steps you need to take so you can safely head inside the Pillars of Creation.
How to Enter the Pillars of Creation
It may seem simple when the Carpenter assigns you the task of going through the Pillars of Creation, but if you're Flame Altar Level is too low, it can be a challenge to get through to the Nomad Highlands.
It's not entirely impossible to reach the Nomad Highlands if you feel like chipping away at the mountain around it and finding yourself higher ground to glide from, but it's much easier to focus on upgrading your Shroud Passage Level via your Flame Altar before you decide to enter so you're not limited with your exploration.
To get through the Pillars of Creation, you'll need to enter through the Gate to the Pillars of Creation. This sits northeast of the Springlands Ancient Spire, Southwest of the Revelwood Ancient Spire, and east of the Mistbury Catacombs. Your Shroud Passage Level and Flame Altar Level must be at Level 4 to go through the gate, otherwise, you'll be met with Deadly Shroud.
How to Upgrade Your Flame Altar to Level 4
Flame Level 4 | ||
---|---|---|
Altar Activation Capacity: 7 | Shroud Passage Level: 4 | |
Character Attribute Bonus: 3 | Time in the Shroud: 8 min | |
Sparks: 10 | ||
You'll need to have completed the Reach the Capital, Pikemead's Reach quest to get a Fell Wispwyvern Head. But the rest of the materials can be mined, collected, or crafted all around the Revelwood area of the map.
Indigo will be available all over the grassy areas of the Revelwood, while Copper Ore is frequently found on the side of rocks. For an easy way to get plenty of it, be sure to visit the Mark of Sameth in the western part of Revelwood, or the Glimmer Rock Mine right by the Pillars of Creation. Amber can be found in the Shrouded areas, as can Mycelium -- all you need to do is mine away at the mushroom overgrowth on the rocks in the Shroud.
The only bit of crafting you'll need to do for this recipe is to make Goo, which can be done via the Alchemist. For this, you'll need Bug Dust (which is also made at the Alchemist with Critter Parts), Dirt, and Shroud Liquid. You'll need 15x Critter Parts (to turn into 15x Bug Dust), 15x Dirt, and 15x Shroud Liquid for the Flame Altar Upgrade.
Once your Flame Altar is upgraded to Level 4, you'll have no trouble passing through the Pillars of Creation and into the Inner Sanctum. For a complete walkthrough of this area, visit the Finding Masonry Tools page, where you'll begin your journey through the area and into the Nomad Highlands.
