What if we told you that there’s a risk-free and an all natural way to drastically improve your physical and mental well-being? A therapy that has the solution to many common problems of the body and the mind. Sounds too good to be true, right? But trust us, it’s true!

What Is It?

Aromatherapy is an ancient and a natural form of healing. The therapy uses essential oils to promote physical and emotional health.  It can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, and even chronic pain.

Unlike other forms of therapy, such as counseling or medication, aromatherapy doesn't require any equipment or special tools. All you need is a few drops of oil and access to your nose!

All About Essential Oils

Essential oils are the most important ingredient in any form of aromatherapy. There are many different types of essential oils, each with its own unique set of benefits, which are extracted from plants and herbs, and each oil has its own unique therapeutic properties. For example, lavender oil is often used to promote relaxation and calmness, while rosemary oil is known to improve focus and concentration.

When used in aromatherapy, these essential oils are inhaled or applied to the skin to help restore balance and harmony within the body.

A popular combination of essential oil is lavender and chamomile, which promotes relaxation or eucalyptus and lemon, which helps clear the airways. However, feel free to research and experiment with your favorite scents in order to find the combination that’s just right for you and aligns with the result you are trying to achieve.

Some Safety Considerations

Before you dive into the wonderful world of aromatherapy, it's important to be aware of some safety tips. Essential oils are highly concentrated plant compounds, and can sometimes cause irritation, if not used properly.

To avoid potential issues, always dilute your essential oils before you apply them to your skin. This means mixing them with a carrier oil like coconut oil or sweet almond oil. Additionally, it's wise to do a patch test on a small part of your skin before using the oils more widely.

It's also important to never ingest essential oils without consulting an expert first. Although some oils are safe to ingest in small doses, their use should be overseen by a trained aroma therapist or healthcare professional. Taking them internally in large amounts can be very harmful and is never recommended.

Maximize The Experience

Let’s talk a little bit about how to get the most out of your aroma therapy experience. The key is really to take your time in applying the essential oils and setting the right mindset. Don’t think of it as a rushed activity but rather an indulgence.

For instance, waiting until you get home after work and taking a few minutes to close your eyes and inhale deeply can be incredibly calming and help you de-stress. Take time to explore different essential oils and think about which ones you would like to use based on their unique aroma and benefits. Once you’ve picked up an oil that resonates with you, apply it directly onto your wrists or behind your ears for a subtle scent throughout the day. To really bring out the fragrance, opt for using an aroma diffuser so that the scent can fill up your entire room, helping you relax and unwind!
