Audi Goes All Out with 2021 Q7 Refresh

Thanks to heavy updates in the 2020 model year, Audi is able to deliver some nice touch-ups to the 2021 model year without the heavy price increases common among other luxury vehicle manufacturers. Audi incorporates several comfort and convenience features into the 2021 design of its popular midsize luxury SUV, including heated rear seats standard at the Prestige trim level and more driver-assist features now standard across all trims. Meanwhile, the thoughtful engine updates from last year carry over into the latest version. The end result? Absolutely more to love without having to miss out on some of the best designs Audi has to offer.

As ever, Audi has an eye for utility in a way that creates an aesthetically-designed yet luxuriously appointed SUV. That’s a winning approach, as the Audi Q7 delivers exceptional, snappy performance and optional truck-like towing capacity up to 7,700 lbs.

Heavy Towing Capacity Available

Pickup trucks are known best for their robust engines and towing capacities, which can commonly range between 3,000 to 7,000 pounds lbs, more. Of course, the 2021 Audi Q7 is no truck, but its engine specs might seem to suggest otherwise. Audi provides two engine designs for its 2021 Q1 buyers: The 45 TFSI quattro® Tiptronic and the 55 TFSI quattro® Tiptronic.

Although a 2-cylinder engine, the 45 TFSI quattro® Tiptronic engine is no small matter. Audi has fine-tuned this engine to deliver 248 horsepower and 273-lb feet of torque. The efficient design of that engine makes it capable of up to 4,400 lbs of towing capacity with an optional towing package at the Premium and Premium Plus trim levels.

The 3.0-liter engine is where your outdoor adventures will really begin to shine. With 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, the 3.0-liter engine (available in the Premium Plus trim and standard with the Prestige trim) delivers up to 7,700 lbs of towing capacity. That’s more than enough to hitch up your pontoon for the next weekend fishing trip, or even a small-to-medium-sized travel trailer for family camping trips.

All 2021 Audi Q7 vehicles include a high-performance 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The vehicle is also front-wheel drive standard, with all-wheel drive packages available for every trim.

Exterior Designs Made for Curb Appeal

The Audi Q7 provides a streamlined design aesthetic on the exterior. The design was updated in 2020 after the company borrowed a few of its best ideas from the Audi R8’s exterior modeling. That includes the prominent octagonal grille design (and vertical bar approach) and the brightly-lit HD Matrix headlights.

The Q7 is also available in a bevy of colors. Carrara White and Night Black are standard. However, those who like to stand out might want to consider color options such as Galaxy Blue metallic, Navarra Blue metallic, or Barrel Brown metallic.

As for your wheel options, the Audi Q7 has two available. Enjoy the standard 19-inch 5-arm-star design or the trend-setting 20-inch 5-spoke-turbine design. The company also makes a 22-inch wheel design available with an optional package.

Spacious Luxury Interior

For many Audi Q7 buyers, the company’s approach to interior design helps seal the deal. And no wonder. This vehicle carries 8-way power front seats standard, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System, exceptional headroom and legroom, and heated and ventilated front seats. For the 2021 model year, the Prestige trim also received heated rear seats standard.

Seating materials are available in cloth or leather, depending on your preference. Audi also offers multiple friendly color schemes, including Black, Metro Gray, Okapi Brown, and Saiga Beige. All seating color schemes come with a Luna Silver headliner. Additionally, enjoy High-gloss Gray Oak Wood inlays standard with the Premium trim. And of course, your color options across the interior expand when you select the Premium Plus or Prestige trims.

Unique Safety Features

Audi’s focus means standard safety technology does not come at a premium. Additionally, modern driver-assist features are in every 2021 Audi Q7 trim level. Alongside the high-level minimum safety features, the 2021 Q7 offers features such as Active Cruise Control with Lane Keep Assist, Bling Spot Monitor, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alerts, among many others.

The company also offers safety features uncommon among other vehicles: Night Vision Assistant with Large Animal and Pedestrian Detection. “Using a thermal imaging technology at the front of the vehicle, this feature looks for and warns you of upcoming dangers through your included infotainment screen. Large objects, including people and animals, are highlighted in yellow for easier identification. This feature also delivers an audible warning when potential dangers are coming up. If you have the optional Heads-Up Display included with your vehicle, these warnings can be shown in the HUD, as well.

Innovative Technology

The Audi Q7 infotainment system leaves nothing to chance when it comes to desirable features. Use its Bluetooth-enabled connectivity to pair your smartphone to the wide, crystal clear dual-screen Audi MMI® touchscreen display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported formats. And with Audi Connect, enjoy extensive services that include navigation powered by Google Earth, point of interest navigation, fuel location and fuel prices, and more. Big data comes into play to make the Audi Q7 infotainment system an on-the-road data hub that makes every trip exciting.
