Monster Burgers and Insane Shakes has opened in Morristown in the former Ruby Tuesday location on Crockett Trace Drive.
Anthony Ricker, night manager, said their opening has been successful and everyone is working hard to serve the craft burgers and deluxe shakes that the restaurant produces.
“Things have gone well,” he said. “People are happy-we’re keeping employees happy, keeping the public happy.”
When patrons walk through the door, they’ll immediately notice the décor embraces the monster theme, with artwork and murals that recall some of Hollywood’s classic horror movies, with everything from “Jaws” to “Silence of the Lambs.”
Monster Burgers offers nearly a dozen monster themed specialty burgers such as the Vampire Chorizo Burger and the Yeti Breakfast Burger, in addition to other “scary good” fare.
The menu is anchored by the 14lb Frankenstein Burger that can feed 6-8 people and has 8lbs of beef, 12 slices of cheddar, 1lb of bacon, 1lb of hotdogs and more. It costs $50 and comes with a basket of fries. Monster Burgers has issued a challenge wherein if two people can eat the burger and fries in under an hour, they will get it for free, plus a t-shirt.
“It’s a lot of food- I’ve seen quite a few people try to conquer it already, but they can’t do it,” Ricker said. “No one’s beat it, yet.”
The theme continues with the rest of the menu, and their specialty milkshakes are frightfully delicious. Customers can order these premium milkshakes that have names like Cookie Monster, Grave Digger and Storyteller Smore’s.
Ricker said the staff takes pride in coming together to provide a great experience for their customers.
“We’ve got a very good wait staff and an awesome kitchen staff,” he said. “We all work together and we work as a team. We’re a big family and it shows at the end of the night.”
