I’m Justin Carey from Dagsboro, Delaware; and I drive a 2011 Volkswagen Golf Mk6. The Mk6 or sixth generation Volkswagen Golf was produced from 2010 to 2014 as a re-fresh of the Mk5 Golf (renamed as the Rabbit in the US); which ran from 2006 to 2009. My Golf is special and the best way to describe it is that it is the last Generation (so far in the Golf lineup) to be manufactured at the Wolfsburg plant in Germany and imported to the United States. The current Mk7 is now being built at Volkswagen’s Puebla plant in Mexico. As you can see, my car is not stock. I have a few upgrades that improve the car’s performance and overall looks. Under the hood, I have a 2.5L 5 cylinder engine with a cold air intake from APR and a catback exhaust system from Eurojet. I pretty much turned my stock 170 hp Golf to a (est) 190+ hp pocket rocket. For styling; I went with 17×8 Andros Spec H wheels wrapped in 225/45/R-17 BF Goodrich G-Force Rivals. The interior is completely stock and I’m keeping it that way for right now. Compared to today’s domestic hatchback lineup; the German made Mk6 Golf is well put together and gives the owner the ability to personalize their model to how they want it to look. I consider the Volkswagen Golf as a Porsche 911; a car that evolves through time and doesn’t forget it’s roots.
