Wangfujing Snack Street 王府井小吃街
Exotic and exciting street food for adventurous eater
Noteworthy for: Being the only nocturnal food market in Beijing, it's colourful and chaotic stalls are one-of-a-kind.

Not far from Tiananmen square, this bustling pedestrian street is chock full of over 50 neon-lit stalls selling an exciting variety of bizarre snack foods from different places in china. Fried scorpions and sea horses, along with the brains and genital organs of various animals, are among the delicacies you can buy here. And, even if you're not quite the intrepid eater you thought you were, it's intriguing to see what's on offer.
In addition to all the rare foods, there's also "normal" food such as noodles and grilled meat but since the prices are disproportionately high, it's best to head elsewhere for these. Definitely a tourist trap, but still a charming must-see. Its superb location makes it a great starting point for a stroll down the city's central axis, or the forbidden city walls.
