The Geass BD/DVD comes out on Lelouch’s birthday, December 5th.

As it’s being released in Japan, this will only have Japanese audio and Japanese subtitles. If you want English, wait for Funimation’s release in the states.

Since Re;f 1.05 likely takes place very shortly after the movie ends, I assume that based on the numbering, Re;f 103.00 takes place a ways in the future. It also has “fragment” in the title, perhaps hinting at what Lelouch and CC are up to in this PD, or it will showing the direction the Geass story is headed in after the movie, ORRR it takes place at the end of the projects that are coming out for the next 10 yrs.

What will be in the 52 pg booklet?

I have the Japanese recap trilogy BDs. Each of those have a limited edition that came w/a booklet. The contents include a story recap, production sketches, interviews, pics of the theater bonuses, pics of the art countdown before each movie released in theater, etc. I imagine the Re;surrection booklet will be the same.

Code Geass R1 does not refer to season one

I’m gonna try my best to explain this lol.  Due to the various movies, retellings, AUs, etc, there are multiple continuities for Code Geass.

  • R1 / Route 1: Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion S1 + Okouchi’s Episode 26
  • R2 / Route 2: Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion S1 + Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 + Akito the Exiled
  • Movieverse: Code Geass Recap Movie 1 + Code Geass Recap Movie 2 +  Code Geass Recap Movie 3 + Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection

This exists as an extremely dumb image btw.

It seems to be a common trend in the English Geass fandom to retroactively refer to the first season of Code Geass as “R1″. It happens in Japanese too but is way less common, and mostly seems to be years ago. Afaik, the Japanese staff has never referred to it the first season as “R1″ either.

I say retroactively because the S1 = R1 idea seemed to have come along after season 2 was titled “Code Geass R2″. When Code Geass R2 first aired, the staff spread some ideas about how the “R” in “R2″ stood for multiple things. It seems like Koshimizu and Celiss Galvea’s old interview translations are long gone, but I kinda distantly recall them.

In any case, more recently, it was revealed by the staff that “R1″ does not refer to the first season of Code Geass, it refers to writer Okouchi’s original plan for a continuation to Code Geass, and it stands for “Route 1″. Because Okouchi dropped that plan, and R stands for Route, the R2 in Code Geass R2 thus stands for “Route 2″. And this second route refers to Okouchi’s rewrite to re-introduce Code Geass to a new audience. You can read about this on Mononoke’s blog under the “2nd Lelouch Birthday Event”.

I understand that this is going to be considered nitpicking or something, but I think it’s important to understand the lingo that the creators use as well since “R1″ might come up again in future interviews from the staff in reference to the dropped script.

Foxen Anime’s “friend in Japan” who “saw the Code Geass movie”

It has come to my attention that Foxen Anime made a video about the Code Geass movie. In the beginning of the video, he claims that “his friend in Japan saw the movie and discussed the plot w/him”. However, it’s obvious from the video content that he only read the very first version of my summary compilation, which was based on @alchimique​‘s 1st viewing, a few /m/ pamphlet posts, and posts on Japanese Twitter (some of which ended up being incorrect).

While I did not save the previous versions of my compilation text and Tumblr has no previous revision feature, “his friend in Japan” mysteriously got many of the details wrong that I corrected in later updates to the summary. For example, in this reblog from Feb 16, I talk about the Zilkhstan plot, what the first version of the summary said, and what the actual plot was. In his video, he talks about the Zilkhstan plot being what the old summary said with them getting screwed by Zero Requiem. There are multiple other things I could list too…

If you wanna make a video based off of some Tumblr summary, okay, whatever. People have been screencapping, copypasting and sharing the summary since it was posted. But why the fuck would you claim “My friend in Japan saw the movie”? Jfc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Some people.

Disc 2 is all unreleased music from the TV show.

Hello! I read the summary of the movie for Code Geass. As a Suzaku fan, was there anything else worth mentioning that related to him in the movie? Did he bring up Euphy? It seemed like he did not really get that good of an ending.
