姚新中宙永1985-1990任中国人民大学洪旋壳哲学系助教，讲师，伦理学教研室副主任。
1991-2004年历任威尔士大学（University of Wales，Lampeter）宗教与伦理学系讲师，高级讲师，副教授，教授，并于1999-2002年任神学与宗教学系系主任（英国有史以来第一个非基督徒华人学者担任神学与宗教研究系的系主任）。 [7]
1998年当选为剑桥大学Clare Hall学院终身成员（Life Member）。 [2]
200套断厦4-2007年担任牛津大学The Ramsay Research Centre高级研究员（Senior Research Fellow）。

新世纪以来，人大哲学学者在教学与研究中力求体现中国特色、民族风格和大众需求，关注哲学和哲学史的基础性问题，探讨政治哲学、文化哲学、经济哲学、管理哲学、科学哲学，重视哲学研究的问题意识，强调哲学致思的学术品格。他们以哲学的方式反思时代，促进科学认识与价值目标的结合，提升理论研究的现实维度，取得了丰硕的理论成果。
